Sample Letter of Intent for DepEd Teacher’s Ranking

An applicant shall submit to the SDO or the school head of the SHS (either standalone SHS or complete secondary school) where a teacher shortage or vacancy exists, a written application, supported by the following documents:

Mandatory requirements	Letter of intent which shall indicate the following information: a. Statement of purpose/expression of interest b. Subject group he/she intends to teach c. Preferred school(s), if any CSC Form 212 Revised 2017 (Personal Data Sheet) in two (2) copies with the latest 2x2 ID Picture Certified photocopy of certificates of relevant specialized trainings, if any Certified copy of Voter's ID and/or any proof of residency National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance Omnibus certification of authenticity and veracity of all documents submitted, signed by the applicant	Letter of intent which shall indicate the following information: a. Additional requirements	Certified photocopy of Diploma on Bachelor's degree Certified photocopy of Transcript of Records with at least 15 units of specialization in relevant strand/specialized subject Certified photocopy of Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) professional ID card/certificate of registration /license Certified photocopy of ratings obtained in the Licensure Examination for teachers (LET)/Professional Board Examination for Teachers (PBET)	Written approval from his/her head of unit if he/she is currently employed by the national government or the local government unit.
Additional requirements for TVL teacher applicants	Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) National Certificate (NC) of at least one level higher than course to be taught in subject to be taught (e.g. NC-III in SMAW to teach SMAW-NC-II) or same level if there is no NC level higher. Exceptions are given to applicants for courses with no National Certificates (e.g. Handicraft courses) Certified photocopy of Trainers Methodology Certificate (TMC), if available	Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) National Certificate (NC) of at least one level higher than course to be taught in subject to be taught (e.g. NC-III in SMAW to teach SMAW-NC-II) or same level if there is no NC level higher. Dear Sir;

I, the undersigned, would like to inform you of my intention to apply for a Teacher 1 position in your school. Attached herewith is my curriculum vitae attached for your reference. With full confidence, I can say that my skills in giving supervision and instruction to students, along with my excellent communication skills and learned professional ethics qualify me to be a part of the Department of Education.

After teaching for three years in different in private schools, I am now ready to face a more challenging teaching environment where I can give my best as a public servant.

My teaching experience in the private schools honed my abilities as an educator, and I am ready to apply all the learnings I’ve got to a much wider professional environment. I know that your school is a perfect place where I can understand what I am seeking for.

My school of preference is Batasan Hills National High School but in case the other high schools need me more, I would be ready to render my service if it is possible. I prefer to teach the schools which are just around or nearby the place where I reside.

I have a strong belief that effective teaching involves being active in all the aspects of the society and with this belief, I can’t wait to finally participate in the various activities your school may provide for the future academic years. I would be willing to encourage my students-to-be to get involved in the programs for development that your school will hold.

Aside from teaching, I have other skills which I can share to my students and extra knowledge in other fields which I can integrate with the subject that I teach. I know that this is my edge from other applicants who also intend to secure a position in your institution.
Knowing how vital continuous professional development is, I also participated in different teacher training programs in the past four years. Doing so has helped me improve my interpersonal skills and let me get involved in various matters concerning the development of the community where I belong. Working in a group has always been an exciting thing to me as I believe that strong collaboration can bring out the best in the people within a society.
