General Mathematics Quarter 1 – Module 20: Domain and Range of Exponential Functions

In this learning module, you will know more about the domain and range. These two concepts are always included in the study of functions. Identifying the domain of the function will help you to determine if the function will exist in a particular value. The domain of a function is always associated with the possible inputs for a function to exist, while the range is associated with outputs after substituting the possible inputs to the unknown variable.

This module was designed and written with you in mind. It is hoped to answer the questions, “Why domain and range are important?” and “How can I determine the domain and range of an exponential function?”. It is here to help you master finding the domain and range of an exponential function.

After going through this module, you are expected to:

1. define domain and range;

2. find the domain and range of a given function; and

3. represent the domain and range using the set builder and interval notation.
