# DepEd ALS Module 1:Meeting the Families of Numbers

Welcome to this Module entitled Why Do I Need to Believe in Science? under Learning Strand 2 Scientific and Critical Thinking Skills of the ALS K to 12 Basic Education (BEC).

This module was designed to provide you with fun and meaningful opportunities for guided and independent learning at your own pace and time. You will be able to process the contents of the learning resource while being an active learner.

• determine the union of two sets; and
• express satisfaction in mastery of new ways of thinking through application of mathematics.

Lesson 2

At the end of this lesson, you will be able to:

• discuss the different kinds of sets;
• determine the intersection of two sets; and
• express satisfaction in mastery of new ways of thinking through application of mathematics.

Lesson 3

At the end of this lesson, you will be able to:

• describe and draws a number line;
• show the different sets of real numbers on a number line; and
• describe the set of integers.
