In fact, fish and rice are commonly served in every dining table, among rural and urban families. The availability, nutritional content, cheaper cost and abundance of fish in the market have made it popular in the Filipino diet. In addition, health-conscious Filipinos are now turning to fish as a major source of high-quality protein without the presence of saturated fat found in meat which is not good for the health.
